The Story

A two-tier starburst of orange and tomato-red navette glass cabochons radiates from a domed cranberry cabochon at the center, every stone prong-set in gold-tone. The layered petals give it real dimension on the lapel — the high-style mid-century "flower" brooch at its best. The reverse is signed Weiss in an oval maker's cartouche (photographed) — Albert Weiss & Co., New York, prized for exactly this kind of high-color glass work.
